Who operates this site
Vyon is an independent open-source music player project maintained by bxane (@bxanedot on GitHub). The website is vyon.live. Maintainer contact links are listed in our Legal Notice. This policy describes the website; separate third-party services and music providers apply their own privacy policies when you use them.
Data processed when you visit
The site is hosted on Vercel. Web hosting and security systems may process technical information such as IP address, browser details, requested pages and access times to deliver and protect the site. The website uses Vercel Web Analytics on the homepage to understand page visits and improve the website. Analytics may be limited by browser settings or content blockers.
The homepage also displays aggregate live and total visit counts using a separate Supabase Edge Function. It sends a random browser-session identifier stored in session storage so the service can count active sessions and distinct sessions recorded since the counter was activated. The counter refreshes every 30 seconds while the page is visible. These counts represent browser sessions, not verified individual people. Hosting and service providers may still process connection information under their own policies.
Preferences stored on your device
The interactive equalizer stores its settings in your browser so they are available on a later visit. You can remove this data using your browser's site-data controls.
These functions do not require creating a Vyon website account. Storage described here is distinct from any data handled by Vyon's downloadable applications.
External services and links
This site loads typefaces through Google Fonts, which requires a request to Google's servers. Hosting, analytics, and counters use Vercel and Supabase infrastructure. When you follow links to YouTube, GitHub, Discord, Telegram, X, Ko-fi, Patreon, or other services, those providers may collect data under their own policies.
Service providers may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States, subject to their arrangements and applicable safeguards. Check their published privacy and data processing information for current details.
Why data is processed and retention
Technical connection information is used to deliver and secure the website; page-level analytics help understand site usage; visitor sessions support aggregate counters; browser preferences make interactive features work as requested. Applicable legal bases depend on the relevant laws and specific processing activity.
Browser preferences remain until you or your browser remove them. Session storage is generally cleared when its browsing session ends. Vyon's Supabase visitor-counter session records are deleted after 30 days of inactivity by a daily cleanup job; aggregate total visit counts are stored separately and are not deleted by this job. Vercel analytics reporting data and hosting logs are subject to Vercel's applicable service and plan-specific retention policies, which may differ from Vyon's 30-day counter-session limit.
Your choices and rights
You can clear site data through your browser, block external requests where supported, or avoid optional interactive features. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or other controls over your personal information. For a private privacy request, contact the maintainer through an appropriate private channel linked from the Legal Notice; do not share personal details in a public GitHub issue.
Updates
We will update this policy as services or data practices change. The date shown above indicates the latest revision. This privacy notice should be checked against actual hosting and analytics settings before publication.
