THE RULES VYON / LEGAL
Terms of Service.
The terms for using Vyon's website, software and related project resources.
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Using Vyon
Vyon is an independently developed music player and website. These terms describe use of the Vyon website, official downloads, and project resources. By using those resources you agree to follow applicable law and respect third-party rights. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
The software is available as open-source code under the GNU General Public License version 3 (GPL-3.0). That license, rather than these website terms, governs your rights to copy, modify, and distribute GPL-covered software. Nothing here takes away rights granted by the GPL or mandatory consumer law.
Music services and content
Vyon is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially provided by Google or YouTube. Vyon uses third-party music services, including YouTube Music, where supported. Music, artwork, metadata, accounts and streaming services belong to their respective owners and may be governed by separate terms.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of streaming, downloads and locally stored files complies with applicable laws, copyright rules, and the terms of relevant providers. Vyon does not grant licenses to third-party music or promise that particular media is available for download or offline use.
Downloads, updates and availability
Official distribution packages are linked through GitHub Releases. Only download software from sources you trust. Features, platforms, content access, integrations, and the availability of individual packages may change; third-party services may alter or discontinue access.
We may update, suspend, or discontinue project features or website content when necessary. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, or continued support from external providers.
Acceptable use
Do not use Vyon to infringe others' rights, unlawfully access services or accounts, distribute malicious code, interfere with the website or its infrastructure, or violate applicable laws. Do not impersonate Vyon or imply an official relationship with third-party music platforms.
External links and contributions
Our website links to independent sites such as GitHub, community platforms and supporter services. Their content, policies, and transactions are handled by their respective providers. If you submit a GitHub issue or contribution, that platform's rules apply; code contributions are additionally subject to the repository's licensing and contribution arrangements.
Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and project resources are provided on an “as available” basis without a promise of uninterrupted operation or fitness for a particular purpose. GPL-covered software carries the warranty provisions in its license. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
Changes and contact
We may revise these terms as Vyon develops. Changes will be reflected here with a new update date; they will not override rights that apply under law or the GPL. For project questions, use our GitHub issue tracker. Do not post personal or confidential information in public issues. See the Legal Notice for maintainer links.
